Join our team as a Membership Services Coordinator reporting to the Associate Director, Governance and Special Projects. This is a highly connected, service-forward role that supports a key organizational hub with regular interaction across senior staff, Board members, volunteers, exhibitors, and members—ideal for someone who enjoys being at the center of important work, bringing order to complexity, and helping others succeed.
In this position, you’ll make a meaningful impact by keeping governance and leadership activities running smoothly—coordinating logistics for Board and committee meetings, managing schedules and timelines for executive leadership, preparing polished materials, and supporting nominations and special initiatives. You’ll also play an important customer-service role for exhibitors, serving as a first point of contact, tracking payments and documentation, and partnering with internal teams to resolve questions quickly and professionally, while contributing to membership data accuracy, awards logistics, and day-to-day office operations.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, proactive coordinator with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), 1–3 years of administrative experience, strong MS Office skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and a positive, collaborative approach—experience in membership organizations and familiarity with association management systems (especially Salesforce) are welcome strengths. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Equivalent work experience will be considered.
1-3 years of administrative
Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience in membership societies/non-profit environments a strong
Ability to follow through on assignments/duties in a timely and complete Attention to detail and accuracy in all assignments.
Proactive, positive attitude, teamwork and service orientation, with judgment to secure supervisor input as

Experience with association management systems, especially Salesforce, a plus.
The American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) is the world’s largest professional community driving the field of human genetics and genomics research and translation, with decades of leadership supporting new discovery and applications. The Society was established in 1948 to lead research, education, and service in human genetics. The ASHG meeting, first held in 1948, has grown to become the world’s largest annual meeting in human genetics and genomics with attendance of 8,000 or more each year. Soon after, the Society published the first edition of The American Journal of Human Genetics, which launched in 1949.
Over time, the Society has grown, integrated new communities and specialties within human genetics. As knowledge of human genetics has increased and new applications have developed, ASHG spurred the creation of new organizations and societies serving genetics and genomics. Today, the human genetics and genomics community spans scientific and clinical disciplines, reaches worldwide, and engages public and private sectors.
ASHG has looked back on its history to document, reckon with, and apologize for harms and ways that human genetics research has contributed to racism and other systemic forms of discrimination.
