The Director of Marketing is both a strategic leader and a hands-on marketing professional responsible for managing, executing, and optimizing the organization’s marketing and development efforts. This position requires a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, with the Director actively involved in day-to-day tasks such as writing emails, managing campaigns, updating content, and analyzing results, while also driving high-level strategy and internal team coordination. The role centers on the development, maintenance, and execution of a comprehensive and cohesive marketing program for all Society products, services, and activities. The Director works closely with executive staff to implement inclusive marketing and online development strategies and provides innovative leadership in shaping SNMMI's marketing and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Develop long-term marketing and branding strategies to support overall organizational goals.
Campaign Management: Lead and actively participate in the creation and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels (e.g., digital, print, social media), including writing copy, setting up email sends, coordinating assets, and monitoring results.
Hands-On Execution: Serve as a working director who engages in the direct execution of marketing tactics — writing and scheduling emails, managing content updates, creating reports, posting to social media, and operating marketing platforms such as CRM and email tools.
Budget Oversight: Establish, manage, and allocate the marketing budget effectively to optimize campaign performance and return on investment.
Leadership: Lead and guide the marketing department, overseeing their day-to-day operations and projects while actively collaborating with them on deliverables.
Market Analysis: Research and analyze market trends, member preferences, and competitor activities to inform strategy and adjust plans.
Performance Measurement: Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of marketing efforts and create comprehensive performance reports for leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other departments, such as Education, Membership and Communications, to ensure integrated strategies and achieve company-wide objectives.
Brand Development: Maintain and promote a consistent and positive brand image for the Society and its products or services.
