Senior Accounting Associate Location: Alexandria, VA (Hybrid Work Schedule) Type: Full-Time | Exempt | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM Reports to: Controller

We’re looking for a Senior Accounting Associate to play a key role in our Finance department. This role offers the opportunity to manage both accounts payable and receivable functions, contribute to monthly closings and annual audits, and support cross-departmental projects.
What You’ll Do:
Manage invoice processing, check runs, wire transfers, and vendor records
Monitor and reconcile expense reports and credit card activity
Handle cash receipts, deposits, and bank transaction entries
Prepare and review 1099/1096 forms and membership revenue reports
Support monthly closing, annual audit, and budget preparation
Collaborate with internal teams and perform special projects as needed
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
Non-profit bookkeeping experience preferred
Strong grasp of GAAP and attention to detail
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Pn3 a plus
Excel and Word proficiency; experience with database systems
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Self-starter with a team-focused mindset

· Undergraduate 4yr accounting or related business degree or commensurate experience.
· Bookkeeping experience in a non-profit organization preferred.
· Efficient and coordinated organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
· General understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP).
· Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central accounting software and Pn3 experience preferred.
· Proficiency in spreadsheet applications (Excel) and Microsoft Word.
· Experience with database applications.
· Dynamic relationships with strong written and oral communications.
