Degnon Associates, Inc. seeks a full-time Associate Director who will work closely with the Executive Director to provide strategic leadership and direction for a member medical association(s). The Associate Director is responsible for overseeing and executing the client's annual meeting, day-to-day client activities and supervising staff members. The Associate Director will work with the Executive Director to deliver an exceptional annual meeting and establish and implement membership engagement strategies including but not limited to volunteer leadership support, digital communications, publications, and year-round professional development programs.
Candidate must be a highly motivated, self-driven learner, thoughtful individual, with evidence of progressive career advancement and a wide range of successfully managed responsibilities. Association experience and education, including in-depth project and meeting management, are necessary, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills. This excellent opportunity includes diverse duties and some travel.
Position is hybrid in the DC area, therefore some in-office work may be required.

Qualifications:
Strong project management experience, including demonstrated ability to efficiently plan, organize, and manage Board meetings and communications, client meetings, and multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision or direction.
Strong conference planning and management experience for small-mid sized meetings, including demonstrated ability to navigate significant challenges, problem solve and pivot to additional platforms and professional development channels.
Ability to set and implement strategies to achieve client goals.
Ability to develop and cultivate positive relationships with Board, client members, and staff colleagues.
Strong public speaking/presentation experience with an ability to synthesize, distill, and communicate complex issues to a non-technical audience.
Computer efficiency and understanding of multiple association technology platforms is essential
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), AMS and Adobe Acrobat.
Excellent communicator with a history of fostering and contributing to a team culture; willingness to learn from and coach others
Association management experience required, with 5 – 7 years in non-profit or AMC preferred.
