Position is a multidisciplinary adventure. Under the direction of the Executive Director, candidate will train in all aspects of non-profit management to prepare for a future transition, to the Executive Director role. Initially, candidate will train in the basic operational functions of the association; assist in the planning, leadership, and organization of daily and long-term activities; work to ensure continued growth and maintenance of the organization and its charitable endeavors. This non-profit promotes and protects the interests of its members who are directly or indirectly involved in the factory-built home industry. Membership and affiliates include home manufacturers, retailers, community/parks, finance, insurance, installers, transporters, service/suppliers, builder/developers, utilities, and other affordable housing practitioners. Leadership skills are essential.
No one candidate will initially posses the variety of skills utilized within this position, however, various for-profit job skills can translate nicely into the nonprofit arena. Key to this position be be one's adaptability and flexibility, along with a true desire to lean an industry in its totality.
A degree in the fields of business, education, marketing, or political science is desirable; however, equivalent working experience will seriously be considered.
The Tennessee Manufactured Housing Association (THA) is a multi-divisional trade Association founded in 1955. THA is the legislative, regulatory, and educational voice for the factory-built industry in Tennessee. Members are comprised of businesses from manufacturing, retail, finance, insurance, community management, builder/developers, service/suppliers, and transportation divisions.
