The Association for Advancing Automation (A3) is looking for an experienced Director of Events to grow our team that produces our educational conferences and large annual trade show.
A3 hosts four to six in-person events each year in support of the growing automation industry. The successful candidate will play a critical role in helping plan, organize and execute successful events.
We are primarily a work-from-home environment, but travel to events sites and some infrequent travel to the office will be required.

Duties and responsibilities include preparation, planning and execution of A3 events:
Plan and manage all events for the association.
Manage the events team, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
Help develop and manage budgets for events.
Collaborate with marketing, conference, and sales teams to keep our goals aligned.
Help manage event vendors and partners ensure successful events.
Provide timely and useful reporting on events.
Here is what we are looking for:
Minimum ten years of experience in planning and producing trade shows and other events.
Proven leadership skills and experience in managing a team.
Project management skills, including the ability to manage budgets and meet deadlines.
A creative, forward thinker, ability to provide ideas for new events as well as improving existing events.
Ability to lead committees.
Great relationship development and negotiation skills with vendors and partners.
Ability to travel to events.
Excellent communications skills.
Bachelor's degree.
Proven track record of success.
Positive attitude and ability to get along well with people.
Knowledge of automation technology and/or trade associations is a plus.
This is a remote role with occasional travel to the office and event locations.
