TITLE: Media Sales Manager

PAY RANGE: $70,000 - $90,000 DOE
BONUS: 10% bonus potential based upon achievement of defined goals

Responsible for print and digital media advertising sales for Mining Engineering Magazine and Mining Engineering Online, Tunneling & Underground Construction, T&UC online, annual and tunneling conferences’ show guides, Products & Services Directory, Mining Directory.org, digital targeting, other digital offerings, etc.
Essential Functions
Responsible for print and digital media advertising sales for Mining Engineering Magazine and Mining Engineering Online, Tunneling & Underground Construction, T&UC online, annual and tunneling conferences’ show guides, Products & Services Directory, Mining Directory.org, digital targeting, other digital offerings,
Full P&L responsibility for revenue, including establishing and achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
Effectively develops and executes sales strategies and revenue plans that are in alignment with the overall sales strategy.
Creates proposals with sales representatives to include multiple products available like eNews, Webinars, digital advertising, etc.
Manages top accounts, identifying customer needs, opportunities to provide additional value, as well as cross-selling opportunities.
Collaborates with other departments including Meetings, Marketing, Sponsorship, Exhibits, etc. to develop strategic, integrated proposals and packages.
Creates promotional materials, products, packages, and pricing for print and digital media advertising.
Develops weekly, monthly, quarterly sales reports to present to stakeholders.
Actively manages SME’s contract advertisement sales representatives to established goals.
Interprets and utilizes market and advertiser research to develop sales solutions.
Develops, implements and constantly modifies sales action plans.
Takes a proactive approach to sales & marketing and consistent idea generation.
Conducts a business analysis on the viability of new advertising products and creates business plan as appropriate.
Stays abreast of industry trends and performs ongoing competitive analysis and benchmarking.
Responds to advertising information requests from prospective customers.
Schedules digital advertising for online products
Oversees or manages digital retargeting campaigns
Other job duties as assigned.
Other Job Functions
Posts digital advertisement artwork on me.smenet.org; provides monthly view/click-through reports.
Sends magazines to trade shows.
Maintains warehouse stock of back issues of magazines.
Reviews advertising and editorial content of competitive publications.
Travel:
Occasional travel for SME’s Annual Conference and other events may be required.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Journalism, Marketing, or related field of study
5 years of Advertising Sales experience
3 year of strategic sales leadership experience
Experience with digital advertising sales including retargeting, geo fencing
SEO knowledge
Preferred Education and Experience
Media Sales and Magazine experience preferred
Prior cold calling and outside sales experience preferred
