Reporting to the ISRI Vice President (VP) of Membership the Director of Membership – New Member Sales to help support our record growth, ISRI seeks a dynamic rising sales professional to join our team, support the growth and expand of our new membership. Working directly with Owners, Managers, C-Level Executives, and other leaders across some of the most significant recycling companies across the globe, this role will work in collaboration with senior leaders to support the complete sales cycle10.20, including: identifying new prospects; establishing connections at prospective companies; setting meetings; developing the membership sales pitch; and tracking and drafting follow-up. The ideal candidate thrives in a sales-focused culture and enjoys building deep relationships to unlock creative revenue opportunities. The ideal candidate will also be self-motivated, entrepreneurial, energetic, and ready to close lots of membership sales using a consultive sales approach. We are looking for a team player with a passion for leveraging resources to exceed membership goals and objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
Works alongside ISRI’s Vice President of Membership to craft a strategy to lead the association’s membership recruitment process and sales.
Gains deep knowledge of ISRI value proposition, programs, resources, and benefits to employ a consultative sales approach to securing new and prospective members.
Serves as one of the primary points of contact for new membership sales inquiries.
Conducts daily sales activity including scheduling and conducting sales calls, emails, demos and invoicing new members.
Coordinates with the ISRI Revenue Programs team to develop and implement innovative sales strategies to increase member recruitment campaigns and leverage relationships with regional ISRI chapters
Collaborates with policy experts and member leaders to identify new prospective company targets and re-engage existing leads with new policy opportunities.
Ensures new members are on-boarded smoothly and impactfully, ensures data hygiene and assists with annual renewals when needed.
Coordinates with finance on revenue forecasting, invoicing, and engagement tracking..
Analyzes data to measure the success of membership growth efforts and make recommendations for improvement.
Works with team to organize and staff the ISRI booth and sales efforts at conferences, chapter events, and annual convention.
Stays up to date with industry trends and membership best practices, serving as a membership thought leader on staff and within the industry.
Maintains positive relationships with staff, members, prospective members, sponsors, partners, and other organizations to ensure the highest quality of service and the positive image of the association.
Supports special projects or provides input to other departments as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of five years in sales closing B2B deals using a consultive sales approach.
Experience in either association and/or recycling/scrap industry sales preferred.
Strong CRM/AMS database experience required; knowledge of Salesforce and/or Netforum is an advantage.
Ability to work independently to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
Must not be afraid of cold calling.
Superior communication skills including speaking/writing clearly and persuasively as well as listening attentively
Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish or secondary language (outside of English), written and verbal is preferred, but not a requirement.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Suite: Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel
Effective at making engaging presentations in-person and virtually.
Ability to collaborate and work effectively on a remote team
Exceptional customer service; commitment to delivering member satisfaction.
Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills; solution-oriented, proactive, and highly responsive.
Ability to self-direct and multi-task, prioritize, manage time effectively, and move seamlessly between a variety of projects.
