The American Statistical Association (ASA), a non-profit professional society located in Old Town Alexandria, is looking for a Customer Care Representative to join our Customer Services team. We provide our members and customers with publications, educational offerings, and meetings to advance the statistics profession. The Customer Care Representative provides prompt, courteous, and accurate responses to all members and customer inquiries covering the association’s full range of products and services; generates the appropriate follow-up activity, fulfillment, and record keeping necessary to complete the transactions; and assists in the daily activities involved in maintaining thorough and accurate records required to fully service the association’s members and customers. The Customer Care Representative has direct contact with our customers, fulfilling their requests by phone, fax, e-mail, and mail and promoting our products and services. The incumbent will compose correspondence, pro forma invoices, and receipts; perform data entry on memberships, subscriptions, orders, and meeting registrations; process claims and requests for refunds; prepare materials to ship to members; sort and distribute department mail and faxes; and assist with phone coverage. Be available for limited business travel to assist the association’s annual conference on-site staff providing membership and marketing support, if needed.
We are looking for an efficient, courteous professional with customer service and office experience and the desire and ability to provide outstanding service. Three or more years of association and subscription experience is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills; superior attention to detail; able to work independently and as a team member as well as multi-task, problem solve, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Ability to enter, retrieve, update, and correct information in MemberSuite, and an aptitude to understand database capabilities and limitations as well as MS Office products, email, and internet software a must. College degree preferred.
