Founded in 1918, AWCI represents 2,400 companies and organizations in the acoustics systems, ceiling systems, drywall systems, exterior insulation and finish systems, fireproofing, insulation, prefabrication/panelization and stucco industries. AWCI members are contractors, suppliers and manufacturers and those in allied trades.
AWCI is seeking a full-time Membership and Foundation Manager to join our team. This position plays an essential role with managing membership programs, services and operations to ensure an outstanding experience for all AWCI members. In addition, this position will help lead the growth of current programs and development of new initiatives for the Foundation of the Wall and Ceiling Industry, AWCI’s related 501(c)(3) foundation.
Experience in a nonprofit (501(c)(6) and/or 501(c)(3)) environment is strongly preferred, as well a background with association membership and/or foundation programs. The position reports to the director of education and member services and is located in Falls Church, VA. No relocation expenses provided.
Position Details
Full Time; Located in Falls Church, VA (Washington, DC metro area)
Annual Salary: $55,000+ (depending on experience)
Potential of up-to-two telework days per week (after 90 days of employment)
Limited Travel (< 5%)
Responsibilities
Membership
Develop and implement marketing campaigns with marketing manager that generate membership growth, with a primary focus on new wall and ceiling contractor members
Work across departments to develop impactful prospect lists from internal and external sources for recruiting efforts
Support all membership recruitment and retention efforts through communication of AWCI’s member value proposition to internal and external audiences
Develop, manage and track metrics and develop and implement tactics regarding member engagement
Expand personnel lists for member companies in the membership database (Fonteva/Salesforce) to increase reach of digital products and engagement
Manage, maintain and update membership database, and produce electronic member directories
Evaluate and enhance AWCI’s member programs and benefits
Oversee onboarding and outreach to new members and coordinate ongoing communications with members, prospects and lapsed members
Coordinate project elements for member needs assessments and survey projects
Other job-related duties as assigned
Foundation
Help lead Foundation of the Wall and Ceiling Industry activities such as online silent auction and in-person fundraising events
Reinforce relationships with existing donors by tracking and reviewing behavioral data
Identify new donor opportunities and pursue those opportunities to completion
Support implementation of current and future foundation activities (e.g. research, scholarships, etc.)
Promote foundation activities and opportunities for engagement and donations
Support foundation Board of Directors and related volunteer groups
Other job-related duties as assigned

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree from an accredited institution required
3-5 years of membership experience preferred, especially with nonprofit organizations
Strong understanding of the Fonteva/Salesforce platform preferred
Proficient knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and SurveyMonkey
Must be customer service focused, detail-oriented and demonstrate strong project management skills
Excellent communication skills verbally and in writing are essential
