CMI, the association management division of MJH Life Sciences, provides trusted and dynamic management services for associations, foundations, and non-profits in the healthcare field. CMI manages the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC)- the leading education and advocacy organization for the cancer care community and the Oncology State Societies at ACCC- a network of 23 Chapters that provide a state- and regional-level focus into the complexities of cancer delivery.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Account Executive is responsible for managing strategic priorities, operations, finances, and special projects in the areas of education and policy for their assigned State Societies. The Account Executive will also serve as the liaison to each assigned Board, including elections, leadership training, and meeting facilitation. The Account Executive has a thorough understanding of the scope of work for each Society and works collaboratively with staff leadership to ensure each Society receives quality services and products.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with each Society’s board leadership to facilitate strategic planning and oversee execution of the plan; monitor, and update, by-laws, policies and procedures; oversee planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational offerings, meetings and advocacy initiatives.
Provide stewardship of Society assets; oversee the development and management of annual budgets and inform board leadership of financial and operational issues to fulfill the Society's mission.
Maintain strong and effective relationships with board leadership; build and maintain strong relationships with Society members, industry sponsors, and strategic partners.
Work collaboratively across Meetings, Membership, Marketing, Development, and Education teams on a daily basis to develop and implement strategies aligned with the strategic plan/goals of assigned Societies.
Collaborate with partners and coalitions on state legislation.
Plan business objectives and develop organizational policies to achieve results, ensuring a consistent approach to management strategies for each Society.
Represent CMI, MJH & Society clients at Board and Committee meetings, industry meetings and trade shows, developing and delivering presentations as appropriate.
Identify new business opportunities for client management, industry sponsorships and strategic partnerships; identify educational/out of scope projects that enhance the mission of each state.
Perform special assignments and other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of five years of professional experience in an association/association management company, nonprofit, or healthcare organization.
Ability to think strategically, conceptualize projects/programs, and deliver high-quality final products.
Effective communicator with proven ability to develop and deliver presentations to a wide range of audiences.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external clients.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for extensive interaction with clients, prospective clients and leaders in healthcare.
Strong financial skills with experience managing client and program budgets and ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
Proven team skills; effective at building coalitions and encouraging collaboration among staff, board members and external partners.
Customer service focused and proactive in meeting client needs.
Ability to maintain professionalism in stressful situations.
Ability to think strategically and use independent judgment.
Solid organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines for multiple clients.
MS proficiency (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Approximately 25% overnight travel is an essential function of this position, nights and weekends may be required.
