The AAVSB is seeking an experienced Exams Program Manager to be responsible for the organization, administration and oversight of the AAVSB’s exam and certification programs. The manager will be responsible for understanding best practices and advocating for ideas that are based on proven trends to maintain exam integrity. Clear communication with all stakeholders is a key aspect of this role.
Day-to-day activities include collaboration with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, and directing multiple projects and deadlines. Daily responsibilities also include executing strategic plans for introducing new approaches to increase efficiencies and program improvements.
The qualified candidate should possess strong examination insight, exceptional interpersonal skills, maturity, good judgement, communication skills, and be an exceptional collaborator. The most crucial factors in finding a great professional fit are alignment to core values and work philosophies.
Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of the AAVSB’s exam and certification programs; including candidate accommodation requests.
Ensure the integrity of the programs and exhibit the desire for ongoing improvement.
Provide expertise and support to Exams staff to communicate customer, programs, and services needs to all stakeholders.
Adept at clearly communicating complex processes to multiple stakeholders, ie: examinees, staff, and external stakeholders.
Identify and act on trends and program needs.
Collaborate with the Marketing department to develop, implement, and monitor promotional campaigns to build awareness and drive program growth.
Communicate effectively and efficiently with committee chairs and volunteer leaders to manage and enhance the Exams programs.
Maintain professional and timely correspondence with staff and volunteer leadership.
Execute tasks related to the exams and programs; including knowledge of requirements, coordinating agreements, and serving as staff liaison for committee meetings including note taking, assisting with scheduling, and follow up items.
Create detailed project plans that include schedules, timelines, and work plans for assigned projects
Promote and support the continued growth and validity of the VIVA database by providing accurate examination information to the AAVSB Member Boards and veterinary technology programs.
Oversight of exams team on account reconciliation with exam candidates and exam vendors for accounting and audit purposes.
Oversight of exam score import from exam vendor to maintain exam integrity.
Represent the AAVSB at allied organization conferences to promote the AAVSB’s Exam programs and services.
Utilize knowledge and data to recommend systems and website enhancements.
Work effectively, efficiently, independently, and collaboratively as part of the AAVSB team from a remote location or office setting, committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Knowledge of:
Microsoft Suite of Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
The principles and techniques employed in effective exam program administration.
The current trends in exam development and administration.
Strong knowledge of association management principles and practices preferred.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow staff, member boards, BOD members, external stakeholders, and the general public.

Education and Experience:
Required: Degree in business administration, or a related field. Three to five years of experience in program development and administration.
Preferred: Prior exam development, administration and management experience. Association experience. Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation, and/or I.C.E. Certified Credentialing Professional (ICE-CCP)

Work is performed under the direction of the Senior Director of Mobility.
Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000
The AAVSB is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri and moving to Overland Park, Kansas (KC greater metropolitan area) at the end of March. This position may be virtual/remote with the understanding that there will be required company-paid travel to Overland Park, Kansas, and other locations throughout the year.
