Seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and creative individual who is ready to help advance the audiology profession, as well as hearing and balance health-care awareness.
The Academy is looking for an organized, assertive communications and analytics expert with five years’ experience in web and content/project management who will assist in our overall digital communications, web management, and social media strategy.
The senior manager will work closely with the communications team and all other departments and leadership to assist the vice president of communications and membership with the oversight of a full-service communications department in planning, budgeting, and managing projects and staff. Duties include:
Monitor website(s) and work with other departments to assure that all information is accurate, timely, well-written, consistent in look and feel, and user friendly, and that it meets all governance requirements for online content.
Communicate with web-related vendors to maintain functionality across all websites.
Create, craft, and publish relevant, timely, consistent, and high-quality digital content. Includes executing content audits, identifying content gaps, and developing content outlines for subject matter experts to write from.
Identify and improve organizational development of content with leadership, volunteer groups, staff, and members.
Assist in developing a content, engagement, and cross-promotional strategy for all social media and other communications platforms.
Demonstrate the ability to map out comprehensive marketing planning, and drive strategies that are proven by testing and metrics.
Develop reports on web and content performance, and create plans for revising social media, content, and SEO efforts.
Become an advocate for the Academy by engaging in dialogues and/or helping to answer questions and/or drafting responses where appropriate.
Identify web and content-related threats and opportunities and relay these to leadership and/or craft draft solutions and messaging.
Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy.
Assist in the preparation of project plans and budgets.
Assign tasks and projects to digital content and web specialist.
Other duties as assigned.
This position will be required in the office at least two days a week and as needed other days with advance notice.
Experience
5+ years’ experience in digital communications and content development and management.
Education
Undergraduate degree, preferably in communications, journalism, marketing, publications, or related areas.
Preferred certifications in project management and/or association management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Has strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, be flexible, and meet tight deadlines.
Has excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills and experience in sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
Works well in a collaborative team environment.
Demonstrates creativity, immersion, and in-depth knowledge of social media and has experience with a visual design program.
Maintains a working knowledge of principles of search engine optimization (SEO).
Has experience working or familiarity with the following (or similar) platforms: WordPress, ClearVantage AMS, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads Manager, and Ahrefs.
Working knowledge of HTML/CSS, single-sign on functionality, and has experience in managing high performance websites.
Is a team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other employees, volunteers, and leadership, when necessary, on communication messaging, initiatives, and distribution methodologies.
Ability to identify potential negative or crisis situations and apply conflict resolution principles to mitigate issues.
