ASIS International, a professional membership organization located in Alexandria, VA with 34,000 global members, is seeking candidates with a proven track record to serve as our Director, Certification.
The Director will provide leadership and direction for the administration, development, and growth of ASIS’s four board certification programs which serve 11,000+ current certificants. The ASIS CPP, PSP, PCI, and APP certifications are the premier designations in the field of Security Management.
In this important role you will plot the future direction of the credentialing program, supervise exam development and administration, manage the work of a team of three certification specialists, and oversee the administration of the Preferred Provider Program. You will also have responsibility for maintaining the Association’s accreditation through ANSI/ISO and serve as the primary liaison with the Professional Certification Board (PCB) overseeing their role in determining program policies and procedures.
A successful candidate will possess:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with at least 6-10 years of specialized experience in the management of accreditation, certification, or related processes at a university, academic center, association, or accrediting body. ICE-CCP designation highly desirable.
Ideal candidates will possess 10+ years expert experience in certification program development or experience working in non-profit organization with 5+ years expert experience in the management of accreditation programs. Experience with education measurement or psychometrics.
Strong knowledge and experience with ANSI/ISO 17024 or NCCA personnel accreditation standards.
Established analytical skills to enable the effective assessment of programs and services, as well as the evaluation of financial information.
Inspired leadership and management skills, with strong project management and decision-making abilities, which enable the successful direction, management, and prioritization of multiple complex projects and tasks.
Proven ability to successfully lead and develop staff and volunteers in a cooperative work environment to achieve common goals and objectives. Strong collaboration skills that create an effective environment to work across organizational lines and with key stakeholders.
Excellent writing, speaking, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge and/or experience using CRM or comparable association management systems or other database systems.

ASIS offers a dynamic work environment with an excellent employee benefits package including a rich health insurance program and generous 401(k) and PTO leave plans. This position will primarily work remotely at first as ASIS continues in a work-from-home environment for the near future. In 2022, we expect to transition to an in-person/hybrid working environment at our Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia office.
