This position is responsible for providing the highest level of service and support to the SMPS components, our chapters, and regional conferences, including their leaders and volunteers. The manager, component relations will work with staff at all levels of the Society to help identify, develop, and execute goals and tactics related to chapter services. This role has significant interaction with members, Society volunteers, prospects, and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED GENERAL
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
Two-five years of experience in customer service, administrative support, or membership— preferably in a non-profit setting
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude required
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and work independently and efficiently under deadline
Possess a positive, team-player attitude
Strong project management skills: ability to organize work, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Membership database experience, ideally with MemberMax
Actively participate in professional development opportunities
NICE TO HAVE
Experience with developing and facilitating leadership and volunteer management content.
Working experience within Microsoft Teams
Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.
