We are seeking a creative, yet details-oriented Director, Membership and Association Services to join the organization. Partnering with the Vice President, Association Services, you will be connecting regularly with association executives from our local associations, committee leaders and other volunteer leaders in the organization. You will serve in a crucial role creating new benefits, fostering engagement, and driving membership growth.
The ideal candidate would have direct experience in component relations, membership marketing, member services and small staff organization leadership as well as being an accomplished presenter, facilitator, and speaker.
Your responsibilities would include:
Fostering a productive and collaborative relationship between and among all federated local associations of BOMA International.
Operating with understanding and respect for the critical role local associations provide to the members and the profession.
Developing and facilitating meetings (online and inperson) for local association leaders to network and learn from each other.
Assist in program development for BAE meetings at Winter Business Meeting, Annual Conference and BAE Conference.
Create, monitor, and evaluate strategies, materials, and programs to recruit and retain members including principal members working for buildings, local vendor communities and associate members who operate on a national or international scale.
Manage the Coordinator, Association Services and assist in her professional development.
Developing templates, resources and affinity benefits for each size of local association.
Provide increased services for struggling local associations or small local associations with limited staffing support.
Develop and present video recorded and live education sessions to local associations and members to foster greatly awareness and utilization of member benefits.
Via technology competency, utilize AMS (currently iMIS) to quantitatively assess programmatic success.
The following are examples of skillsets and attributes we would like to find in strong candidates:
Has served in executive director capacity for a small organization, providing the applicant with a wealth of experience in various association operations.
Have at least five years of business experience, preferably in association management, including strategy development, tactical planning and execution related to growing a membership base.

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or related.

BOMA International is comprised of passionate team members who do great work for our members each day, while still finding opportunities to have fun and support one another. You will travel a handful of times each year to BOMA International, local association and regional events and conferences.
We will be continuing to operate in a hybrid work schedule where you come into our Downtown DC (walking distance from the McPherson Square Metro) offices three days per week while working from home two days per week. Because of the members we represent, only DC candidates or candidates willing to relocate the DC area will be considered.
