ASAE seeks a Senior Manager, Advocacy and Fundraising, to join our Public Policy team and develop, lead and implement fundraising strategy for ASAEs political action committee (APAC), Power of Associations Advocacy Fund and Summit Awards Dinner gala. The position will also direct ASAEs annual fly-in, American Associations Day, and manage important volunteer programs.
This role requires a self-driven candidate with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong emotional intelligence and a willingness to take ownership of important organizational programs and priorities.

Plan, manage and execute ASAEs annual legislative fly-in, American Associations Day
Lead and implement a fundraising strategy for ASAEs Political Action Committee (APAC)
Support APAC compliance activities
Plan, manage and execute ASAEs annual Summit Awards Dinner
Manage Power of Associations Fund program design and fundraising
Manage ASAEs Fellows program, a cohort of association leaders who have made exceptional and sustained contributions to the association community.
Manage relevant governance committees and task forces
Attend political events
Support grassroots efforts
Manager intern program
Additional duties as assigned
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with political fundraising, PAC compliance, legislative and regulation
Excellent interpersonal, event planning, and marketing skills
Strong writing, editing and public speaking skills
Ability to speak clearly and persuasively on ASAEs PAC and advocacy accomplishments to outside audiences and prospective contributors
Organizational, planning, and management skills for group meetings
Event management experience
Strategic thinking and judgement
Strong data management and Microsoft Office proficiency
Supervisory Responsibility This position manages the intern program.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Ability to work before and after-hours events on occasion is needed.
Travel Occasional travel is required.
Required Education and Experience
BS/BA degree in Political Science, Communications or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Minimum of five years professional experience.
Event management experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Public Policy experience is preferred. Capitol Hill, political campaign, lobbying and coalition-building experience a plus.
Communications and marketing experience
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable) Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
