Description
The purpose of this position is to generate non-dues revenue through the development of continuing professional education programs for speech-language pathologists and audiologists. Duties include producing programs in various educational media, with emphasis on programs delivered over the Web. The incumbent coordinates efforts of instructors, staff content coordinators, and outside vendors in the development of instructional programs; advises instructors on effective instructional approaches; develops learning activities and exercises, assessments, and other collateral materials for instructional programs; and ensures that the programs and products meet all requirements of the Continuing Education Board.
Responsibilities
Manage and direct course development process, adapting material provided by subject-matter experts for delivery in a range of media, with emphasis on the Web
Manage multiple concurrent projects, meeting targets for timelines and budget
Develop exercises, activities, learning assessments, and other collateral materials to facilitate learning in various delivery platforms
Plan, collect, and interpret needs assessment and course evaluation data
Provide support to instructors and participants as necessary for live programs
Qualifications
Knowledge Typically Acquired Through
Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, curriculum and instruction, or related field (master’s degree preferred)
Three years’ experience in developing and managing continuing professional education programs
Experience in developing programs for Web delivery
Scope and Depth of Technical Skills/Knowledge
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with subject-matter experts in a range of fields to develop continuing professional education programs
Demonstrated ability to adapt content to different delivery media, including Web-based and computer-mediated
Demonstrated ability to deliver projects involving multiple contributors on time, within budget
Experience working with one or more learning management systems or Web content management systems
Intermediate to advanced skill using Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint)
Experience using Web conferencing software
Experience using Articulate or comparable course authoring software
Demonstrated ability to document workflow and processes
Scope and Depth of Non-Technical Skills/Knowledge
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
