National trade association based in Arlington, VA representing the chain pharmacy industry seeks team player to join collaborative team to provide policy support on health policy and pharmacy issues at the state and federal levels. Serve as subject matter expert on state Medicaid issues, state reimbursement issues, state scope of practice, federal public policy including HHS Medicare and DIR, federal drug pricing, and healthcare quality topics. Advance the priorities of the association for chain pharmacy and retail health.
Position will analyze, interpret and track proposed and enacted legislation and regulations; draft testimony, regulatory comment letters, issue briefs, talking points, and other advocacy materials; provide policy guidance and subject matter expertise to answer questions from staff and members; represent association in industry coalitions and interact with other pharmacy/healthcare/consumer organizations; speak before various audiences
NACDS is currently a hybrid workplace -- work at least two days per week in the office through the summer (one day is a designated department day) and may work remotely remaining days, subject to change at anytime. Remote work must be within a reasonable commuting distance of our Arlington VA office. Flexibility around core hours. NACDS requires up to date COVID-19 vaccination as condition of employment (proof of vaccination and booster required before your start date), unless a reasonable accommodation has been requested and granted for a bona fide medical or religious reason.

Successful candidate will have: comprehensive knowledge on chain pharmacy/retail health/healthcare industry; ability to work across multiple cross-function teams; minimum five years relevant work experience in health policy with a focus on pharmacy, retail health and/or healthcare; outstanding oral and written communication skills, ability to work well as part of a team and meet tight deadlines; degree in political science, law, public policy or social sciences, health administration.
