The Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) is seeking an experienced educational professional who will be part of a collaborative team including staff and members to deliver innovative educational programs to accounting and finance professionals.
This position is responsible for selecting educational programs such as conferences, courses and certificate programs that align with the needs of the accounting and finance professionals we support. The Senior Manager will determine whether the programs are delivered in-person, hybrid, or online as well as the type of learning experience that will best suit the material including pre-reads, flipped classroom, blended learning, discussions, etc. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) assist with the planning, design, development, and delivery of the programs. The ideal candidate must be able to work with our members to keep our programming up-to-date with trends and changes in the profession. Two positions on the team report to this Senior Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities
Determine curriculum with the Senior Director including courses, conferences, and certificate programs. Oversee curriculum design, instructional design, program design, and implementation.
Recruit, schedule, and manage Content Advisory Groups (CAGs). Moderate meetings, collaborate to plan conference, and communicate with group during planning.
Identify and recruit SMEs to design, develop and deliver learning programs using engaging learning methods.
Review speaker proposals and present for approval. Negotiate contracts and fees within budget.
Speaker management including submission of bios, session materials, accommodations, payment, etc.
Research and investigate other methods of engaged learning to bring new ideas and learning methods to events.
Work with ICPAS staff to continuously improve our hybrid learning options, software and engagement activities.
Work with Marketing on event promotional materials and marketing plan.
Ensure compliance with national and state continuing professional education regulations.
Oversee operations of courses and conferences including facilities setup, MC duties, materials, software set up, speaker management, communication to CAGs, etc. with the ICPAS team.
After event, lead team meeting to recap event successes and challenges and event evaluations including speaker and content ratings. Ensure attendance and credits are processed.
Review budget and attendance. Provide recommendations of changes to programs based on profitability margins and attendee satisfaction.
Identify new partnerships for program development opportunities with other groups
Demonstrated Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Qualifications would be equivalent to:
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred
A degree or certification in adult education or instructional design is a plus. Experience with accounting profession is a plus.
3+ years working with SMEs
3+ years of experience adding interactive adult learning practices and SME coaching into multiple delivery channels (in-person, online and blended) and learning depth (information, application, etc.).
Ability to analyze and understand complex and diverse segments and proactively design learning products to meet market demands.
Superior communication skills (oral and written). Able to build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of people, lead one-on-one and small group discussions. Ability to create and write clear and compelling learning objectives that address segment needs.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, track deadlines and milestones.
Detail oriented.
Reliability and flexible schedule are required on a Monday-Friday basis. Must be available early morning to evening (7:30 a.m.to 5pm approximately) for events. Able to travel within IL with some overnights required. Driver’s license or access to transportation is required.
