We have an exciting opportunity for a Governance Associate to join our Executive Office! You will manage and/or support various governance activities of the organization.

What You’ll Do
- Manage, monitor, and serve as trusted advisor and resource for section nominations/leadership development process
- Develop project timeline for the section nominations process and track deliverables
- Evaluate and assess the annual nominations/leadership development process with an eye toward identifying challenges and offering suggestions for improvement when needed
- Ensure volunteer committee goals are aligned with organizational strategic goals
- Lead the annual election process, including coordinating with elected candidates, drafting biographies, and working with the election vendor to create an all-member election
- Successfully engage volunteer leaders and help facilitate new paths of leadership
- Help create an onboarding program as well as annual training for volunteer leaders
- Provide consistent communication with and support to volunteer leaders
- Provide operational support to sections when needed
- Coordinate cross-departmental communication and collaboration to support governance activities
- Ensure compliance with governance requirements
- Serve as source of information on governance procedures to various parties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department director
- Provide logistical support at the Annual Meeting and other governance-oriented events
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the necessary skills and expertise required for the position
- 5 - 7 years of solid administrative experience with proven track record of taking on progressively sophisticated responsibilities
- Ability to handle confidential details with absolute discretion
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to support team members when needed
- Ability to handle complexities with solution-oriented focus
- Ability to prioritize, plan, coordinate, and complete multiple projects on deadline
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills for both internal and external constituencies
- Superior proofreading skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (including mail merges), Salesforce, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, AirTable, various cloud-based platforms
- Desire to stay and grow with the department and organization
- Familiarity with governance processes, volunteer management and/or volunteer engagement preferred
- Membership organization and customer service experience preferred
