Location: ASA headquarters in Itasca, Illinois (Northwest suburban Chicago).
We are currently seeking a motivated, experienced and creative manager of data/market intelligence to join the American Supply Association (ASA). The ideal candidate that we seek will have a strong understanding of business data and analytics with a strong ability to market and expand the association’s economic data, intelligence reports and trends to our members that will expand their ability to make sound, data-driven decisions. Business Intelligence is one of the four core values of the association and we are seeking the right person to both deepen the value of this area and promote the engagement of our membership. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to lead and manage volunteers, third-party economists and data providers in creating an engaging business intelligence offering, and then create excitement in those programs and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with senior leadership to develop ASA’s data-related business processes and prioritize the organization’s business information needs.
Engage relevant stakeholders and members in developing and delivering exciting and relevant economic and intelligence reports to the membership.
Serve as the voice of the association in the delivery of industry data.
Expand ASA’s ability to be the recognized source of data insights and industry trends.
Lead the association’s effort to market and generate excitement and participation buy-in for all business intelligence/benchmarking offerings.
Collaborate and direct third-party service vendors in delivering economic trends and business intelligence information that enables the association to deliver actionable business intelligence programs.
Articulate the association’s data and business intelligence reports to members and key industry partners.
Facilitate member outreach efforts throughout the year to generate excitement and participation in our business intelligence/benchmarking offerings.
Demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Display a curious mind, positive attitude and collaborative work style.
Build and maintain positive internal and external relationships with staff, vendors, members and volunteers.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in marketing/communications with a strong understanding of economics, business analytics, or research preferred. We are looking for someone who understands data and trends that can effectively communicate that information and then engage our membership.
A minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience encouraged. Experience in a trade association or professional society a plus.

Ability to collect, understand and articulate data and business statistics.
Demonstrated track record in developing and executing market research plans in support of clearly defined business needs a plus.
Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel and Power Point, in particular).
