The pay for this position ranges from $50k to $55k based on experience and qualifications for the role. About the Role
As AIHA’s Digital Advertising Specialist, you will contribute to our mission of empowering those who apply scientific knowledge to protect all workers and their communities from occupational and environmental hazards. Specifically, by developing and implementing effective paid advertising campaigns that connect occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) professionals with AIHA’s events, products, and services. This position will report to the Program Director, Digital Marketing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Paid Advertising & Content Creation
Work directly with the Managing Director, Marketing and Communications and Program Director, Digital Marketing to develop overarching paid media strategy for AIHA, the Product Stewardship Society, AIHF, and our two flagship conferences AIHce EXP and PSX.
Help develop the goals, needs, and target audiences for specific campaigns to create and coordinate advertising campaigns.
Manage, monitor, and implement all pay per click (PPC) advertising including Google AdWords, retargeted and web, and social media.
Develop powerful and concise advertising copy.
Provide design direction for graphic and ad creation, including light internal graphic design work as needed (Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator).
Create deliverables, and maintain deadlines for outside advertising with partner organizations inclusive of print ads, website banners, social, etc.
Stay up-to-date on latest digital advertising trends and research competitor pricing and products.
Project Management
Route key deliverables for review and approval by department approvers.
Project manage deadlines tied to advertising initiatives and marketing deliverables tied to marketing campaigns.
Tracking & Reporting
Maintain UTM tracking for MarComm department and develop URLs for staff as needed.
Implement and maintain audience and conversion tracking scripts required for paid media and other marketing activities in Google Tag Manager.
Analyze results directly tied to paid media campaigns and report out to MarComm team on a monthly basis, including recommendations for optimization.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in digital media, marketing, or related field. Other education will be considered (e.g. Trade Schools and Certificate Programs)
Required:
Minimum of 2 years related experience in digital marketing and managing projects independently start to finish
Proficient in Google Analytics, AdWords, Ad Manager, and Tag Manager
Strong understanding of conversion tracking implementation
Proficient in implementing Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube ads, inclusive of being up to date on all ad specs and requirements
Basic graphic design skills, working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop and Illustrator specifically
Preferred:
Association experience
Experience working with content management systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
Working knowledge of basic HTML and CSS
Working knowledge of SEO/SEM

Based on our business set-up and to maximize remote work opportunities, AIHA only employs individuals who live in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia. To be considered a candidate must live in, or be willing to relocate to, Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia.
