ISPE is seeking a Membership Marketing Manager who is responsible for driving membership growth and retention while working closely with the Senior Director of Membership. The Membership Marketing Manager “owns” the member growth and retention initiatives and responsibilities. This role works with cross-functional teams, creates marketing campaigns and great copy and stays current with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and digital experiences focusing on digital experience and online user experience.
Essential Functions
Responsible for growing and maintaining membership and is recognized as a key stakeholder for Membership Value Stream
Execute membership strategy to drive aggressive membership goals for growth and retention
Partner with marketing and business leaders and chapters to develop and implement campaigns and initiatives to increase and retain membership
Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution
Analyze a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels such as content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis
Analyze market trends and prepare forecasts
Serve as primary staff liaison to the International Membership Development Committee
Develop agendas, participate in and/or lead meetings presenting relevant and valuable data
Track and report current and historical membership counts trends, make recommendations to impact outreach and other activities based on trends
Evaluate recruitment and retention efforts for effectiveness
Develop member onboarding programs
Develop and take ownership for retention programs/outreach
Identify and test new markets for membership growth
Oversee and approve marketing material, from digital to print assets
Develop and create renewal outreach strategy and processes with keen understanding of member experience through all phases of member join/renewal processes and make improvement recommendations
Measure and report on the performance of outreach and renewal campaigns in collaboration with other department(s) as appropriate
Develop and administer surveys to determine satisfaction with membership and other programs/benefits
Identify “at-risk” members and determine appropriate initiatives for retention
Represent membership at industry and ISPE trade shows/conferences
Create member personas in collaboration with other department(s) as appropriate
Collect, create, and edit materials for monthly ISPE Update email blast distribution.
Survey/talk with existing members to identify their likes and pain points with ISPE membership and target messaging as appropriate to address feedback
Manage all aspects of group membership including providing enhancements to the program
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field
Five to seven years marketing or communications experience required
Three years’ experience in CRM or AMS database management required; 5 years preferred
Experience with iMIS AMS preferred
Association or Pharmaceutical experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to discern and positively address concerns
Demonstrable experience in marketing together with the potential and attitude required to learn
Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading across channels marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate
Extensive knowledge of marketing tools
Knowledge of current and the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
Astute problem-solving skills, and proven organizational and administrative skills
Ability to work amicably with others
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant software
