Job Summary
The Mathematical Association of America (MAA), seeks a full-time Communities Coordinator to report to the Director of Member Engagement and Customer Relations. If you are a tech-savvy professional, problem-solver, critical thinker, and a quick study, we would like to meet you.
Job Responsibilities
Community Support: Local Sections and SIGMAA (Special Interest Groups)
Provide administrative support for MAA Communities including 29 regional sections, 17 special interest groups, and several MAA Committees
Produce informational emails to Section and SIGMAA leadership (and members) via our email marketing system by request
Track and follow up with Section and SIGMAA reports provided by Officers regarding activities from each fiscal year
Maintain accurate financial records for SIGMAAs and coordinate annual payment program
Liaison and document community requests to Director of Member Engagement
MAA Digital Community Engagement Platform
Provide direct technical support and member requests for community engagement platform
Maintain schedule of events and announcements
Update best practice initiatives and build relationships with community members that will allow MAA to grow customer engagement and provide oversight of all processes and procedures on the community platform
Moderate and monitor community discussion forums to identify opportunities to enhance the community platform
Work closely with Sections and SIGMAA Officers on engagement platform to increase user participation
Work with MAA Relations Director and Communications team to execute an online community strategy to drive member engagement
Event Logistics Support
Coordinate all aspects of the annual MAA MathFest Student Presentation Sessions to include:
Management and poster session support, management of online submissions for students and judges, draft email communications for students and judges, compile content for the abstract publication and prints, and coordination with Meetings and Events team as needed.
Serve as primary project support and liaison for Undergraduate Student Programs, which includes ensuring student activities are scheduled and executed at national meetings
Prepare for and provide support for MAA exhibit booth representing MAA Communities and duties as assigned
Provide registration support for MAA Section meetings through the CVENT registration system, collaboration with Section webmaster on website templates.
Minimum Qualifications

Education
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3+ years of applicable experience. Association or non-profit experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Direct experience working with Higher Logic (or comparable) online community and association chapters or groups is a plus
Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt and learn as new systems and processes are introduced
Digital Media Skills:
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel -advanced level, PowerPoint, Reader and Adobe Suite, etc.)
Proficiency with Google Suite and SurveyMonkey; some experience an AMS based software system desirable
Experience working with Higher Logic (or comparable) online community and association chapters or groups is a plus
Beginner level experience with website building software (e.g. Squarespace, WordPress, Drupal) preferable
Familiarity with database and project management systems is desirable
Physical Demands:
Able to lift up to 10 lbs.
Work Environment:
General office environment or remote work based on MAA manager approval and MAA policy
Travel:
Limited work related travel
Occasional weekend
