The Community, Outreach & Engagement Program Coordinator will play an essential role on the Outreach & Engagement Team to cultivate a diverse, inclusive, and engaged ORS community by increasing access and opportunities. Oversee the ORS Awards/Grants working closely with the Awards & Recognition Committee, Sections, and external partners in the recognition of scientific and career achievement. Provides administrative support to the ORS Research Sections created to promote a community of like-minded peers in a specific area of research. Guides and provides recommendations to the committees and Sections to ensure the charges, goals, and objectives are achieved through the development of strategies and tactics.
ORS Awards/Grants
Serve as staff liaison to the Awards & Recognition Committee, society partners, and sections.
Oversight and management of the ORS awards processes, including the development of proposals, application/nominations form, review process, and selection.
Reviews and updates website content/information related to award eligibility/criteria/updates with Communications Manager.
Create, distribute, and promote Award announcements via ORS communication vehicles, including social media.
Communicate with applicants, committee, and awardees throughout the process.
Process award honorariums and awards & certificates for recipients. .
Research Sections
Serve as staff liaison to ORS Research Sections working with section leadership to arrange section meeting dates/time, develop and distribute agenda materials, assist in taking and in the distribution of minutes and various reports.
Ensure action items and motions are identified and implemented.
Oversee the Section membership recruitment and retention efforts including the processing of section dues and billing.
Responsible for the development and of Section website content and publication of program agendas/information, newsletters, marketing materials, and related marketing/communication campaigns etc.
Work with the sections to develop and distribute their newsletter.
Community & Outreach
Serve as the staff liaison to the Women’s Leadership Forum working with the co-chairs to arrange meeting dates/times, develop and distribute agenda materials, taking and distribution of minutes.
Assist in the development of committee initiatives, overseeing the implementation and successful outcome of each project as assigned.
Assist with social media efforts of the Society as directed.
Prepare data reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors as requested.
Ensure the collection of data complies with the ORS privacy policy.
Develop procedures manual for all responsibilities of this position.
Assist with general administrative duties in support of the Outreach & Engagement team,
Complies with all safety policies and practices of the organization and all safety standards associated with this position, including the use of personal protective equipment.
Performs all other job-related duties as required or assigned.
Travel: Approximately 7 – 18 days per year (ORS Annual Meeting, Satellite Meetings)
2+ years’ experience in working in an association, nonprofit, or related organization experience.
Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of how to effectively work with volunteers.
Strong verbal and written communication and analytical skills.
Service oriented attitude and professionalism in all customer service-related duties.
Prior experience with Association Management Systems (i.e. MemberClicks or iMIS) and HigherLogic or related platforms preferred, but not required.
High Level proficiency using Microsoft Office.

Additional Salary Information: The ORS team is currently working remote and does not anticipate resuming any work at the office until later this year. Once we return to the office we will have a generous and flexible work from home schedule. ORS provides excellent benefits including health, dental, life insurance, STD, LTD.
