The CAS is seeking an experienced coordinator to assist the Manager of Professional Education by providing the support for a variety of programs designed to inform and educate CAS members and other interested parties.

Scope of Responsibilities
The Professional Education Coordinator (PEC) will assist the Professional Education Department’s team to enhance and implement organizational vision as established in the Casualty Actuarial Society’s (CAS) Strategic Plan. The coordinator is responsible for ensuring on-going programming excellence and assisting in various educational initiatives. The PEC coordinates and supports a variety of professional education projects and programs throughout the year.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Serve as staff liaison for various online and in-person seminars, bootcamps and workshops of less than 100 people each.
For online events, assist with the technical aspects of delivery, such as conducting virtual event orientations for staff, speakers and volunteers; managing the platforms used; and training speakers on using the platforms, as needed.
For in-person events, ensure speakers’ content is received on-time and ready for presentation, prepare and tally event evaluations, coordinate AV with the IT department, and staff the event to assist with registration, signage, speakers and sessions, and other duties.
Assist with managing the maintenance and development of content on the Professional Education Department’s webpages.
Assist with the management of the CAS Learning Management System, answering questions related to the LMS and assisting with troubleshooting technical issues.
Collaborate with other departments (Meetings, Marketing, CAS Institute, Regional Affiliates) in their specific professional education programs.
Assist with researching content and speakers and evaluation activities as it relates to professional education programming.
Assist with the production and delivery of promotional materials for various educational events.
Work with staff and key stakeholders to ensure consistent, high-quality project management of various yearly programs.
Assist with the management of the Society’s content management system.
Provide support on other professional education projects as needed.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Fully accredited four-year undergraduate degree
Minimum of 3 years work experience in an association/non-profit organization
Experience working with association volunteers and a concentration in online education is highly desirable
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems, NetForum, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and GoToWebinar is highly desirable.
A willingness to learn new technology, as the occasion arises
Strong project management and written and verbal communication skills
Ability to plan, track and perform multiple tasks; must be able to manage multiple priorities and maintain high attention to detail
Strong service orientation with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in using e-mail communication, polling and surveying software (i.e. Doodle poll and SurveyMonkey), Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SmartSheets and databases
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with senior-level business professionals
