The Senior Manager, Marketing will work with the Staff Vice President, Marketing, to develop and implement marketing plans and strategies for multiple departments, service offerings, meetings, trainings, and conferences, driving attendance, and supporting AAAE staff in all efforts of sales and promotions. In addition, the Senior Manager, Marketing will support membership recruitment and retention efforts, as well as promoting member benefits.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Work with various departments and staff SMEs to develop and implement marketing plans for educational conferences, meetings, webinars, newsletters, and marketing collateral, with special attention on creating new ways to attract attendees using both email and non-email forms of communication
Produce content for an average of 60 targeted, personalized promotions per month, including, but not limited to, broadcast emails, brochures, direct mail pieces, conference marketing materials and newsletters, and banners for meetings
Evaluate market conditions, perform customer research, and implement marketing plan changes as needed
Measure and monitor ROI on marketing initiatives
Write and lay out AAAE’s monthly electronic meetings newsletter
Monitor and update AAAE’s websites for individual meetings and membership
Develop print and electronic sales-support materials for staff in charge of selling exhibits and sponsorships
Coordinate and manage design and printing for meetings and conferences
Support other areas of marketing as needed
Position requires some travel
Performs other related duties and assignments as required
Education, prior work experience, and specialized skills and knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business administration and a minimum of 7 years of related marketing experience, preferably at an association
Candidate needs to be especially tech savvy and possess in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, PowerPoint and Acrobat; as well as be proficient in using a PC. Knowledge of iMIS 20 with RiSE, Higher Logic Marketing Automation Pro (Informz), Google Analytics, Perfect Audience and Adobe Illustrator are a plus
Strong organizational and project management skills required, with ability to manage projects from conception to completion and produce results under pressure and tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills required, including written, verbal, and interpersonal
Experience in building brand image, with extensive knowledge of e-marketing, social media, database marketing and automated marketing strategies and techniques
Flexibility with work schedule to accommodate a busy department
