AMA is looking for a SVP, Chief Marketing Officer, who will be responsible for the overall management of AMA's inside open enrollment seminar sales and marketing activities in the United States. As chief steward of the AMA brand, this executive will retain overall responsibility for all AMA marketing activities including, collaborative strategic leadership and planning with AMA's product and sales teams, aligning marketing efforts across multiple channels. The CMO will be directing all print and digital marketing, branding, PR and communications for AMA products & services, to increase brand awareness, grow membership and drive revenue, and build relationships among our target and prospect buyer audiences. The ideal candidate has impeccable communication and leadership skills, with proven success in managing membership-based organizations in traditional and digital marketing techniques and campaigns.
We are looking for a marketer with strategic, creative and financial/business acumen who possesses the agility to flourish in a matrixed team environment and the diplomacy and navigational skills needed in a larger organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop an integrated marketing strategy that effectively communicates AMA's brand identity and product offerings to target segments in a compelling and distinctive manner. Elements of the strategy include driving customer acquisition through full integration of digital, social and print media.
- Develop and clearly communicate a growth strategy to all stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain a consistent brand image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events.
- Lead and develop a marketing team that is collaborative, innovative and capable of supporting a climate of strategic growth. Build out an organizational structure that fosters collaboration and coordination with the product development team.
- Direct AMA's Inside Sales Team, (i.e. Call Center) to drive US sales to exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual goals, by acquiring and retaining large, high volume accounts with a primary focus on learning solutions for individuals and corporate clients.
- Lead the development of a full range of innovative and interdisciplinary marketing programs across all delivery channels (including digital & social media, print and TV advertising, etc.) and member/customer segments.
- Conceive and execute a comprehensive “next generation” digital strategy. Create, manage and promote digital content and assets. Capitalize on digital opportunities to broaden and deepen engagement with key target audiences.
- Enhance and grow AMA membership and market research. Leverage member/customer insights and market data/analytics to shape the development of new offerings and delivery models and to enhance member/customer engagement.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team to both uncover and develop ideas for new business/revenue opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze program performance to ensure progress toward established goals and effectively manage the departmental budget.
- Devise, as necessary, new campaign management strategies and models and champion these ideas throughout the AMA organization.
- Play an integral role in the ongoing development and refinement of AMA's strategic plan, with full responsibility for U.S. marketing and inside sales.
- Help ensure that AMA is fulfilling its core mission and public service objectives.
