The Senior Manager of IT will develop, plan, and manage technology-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and hands-on support for daily operational activities. The Senior Manager of IT will work with staff and stakeholders to identify technology solutions that increase the quality and sustainability of the programs and increase productivity and success of the ISSCR staff. This position will work with the interim CIO to define and implement technology policies, procedures, and best practices. The Senior Manager of IT will coordinate technology needs assessments, recommend, and provide technology training to staff and be service oriented. This position reports to the COO.
Works with interim CIO on operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
Provides necessary support of ISSCR’s iMIS (association management system) to staff. Facilitates query development by gathering end-user requirements and creating advanced queries and reports.
Works with staff to determine effective technology solutions for meeting both strategic and operational needs; meets with individual departments to discuss needs and solutions before projects are approved, ensuring that selected solutions integrate with other ISSCR systems as necessary and meet best practices for IT standards.
Understands and oversees the integrations between third-party systems and the AMS (iMIS).Third-party systems include Informz (email marketing), Sitefinity (content management system), Aventri (event registration system) and Cadmium (abstract submissions).
Stays apprised of current knowledge, information, trends, and best practices with current and future technologies.
Benchmarks, analyzes, reports on, and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of the technologies that ISSCR use.
Manages consultants, vendors, and service providers.
Manages financial aspects of the IT department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.
Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
Participates on the Technology Steering Team to advise staff on technology-related initiatives.
Works with ISSCR’s managed service provider to maintain asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
Establishes and maintains regular written and in-person communications with the organization regarding pertinent IT activities, including training as needed.
Facilitates training for staff on technology solutions.
