About the Role
The PICPA is seeking a professional individual with excellent communication, collaboration and organization skills to join our dynamic team dedicated to providing relevant, engaging, and quality continuing education for Pennsylvania’s CPAs. In this influential position the Conference Content Developer will partner with leaders and subject matter experts in the CPA community to build engaging, relevant content for an exceptional competency-based education program.
The Conference Content Developer is responsible for all aspects of planning and curating excellent continuing education content. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal, communication and meeting facilitation skills, as well as strong research and writing skills. Conference Content Developer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Schedule and facilitate in-depth planning and brainstorming meetings with subject matter experts and identify current industry trends and challenges to develop quality, relevant continuing education content
Partner with SMEs and staff to determine the topics and content for conferences and other knowledge products.
Explore and collect background information for each learning topic, utilizing various methodologies and professional sources (including competitive or similar industry accounting events, interviews with subject matter experts, trade publications, etc.) in order to gain an understating and pitch ideas for the learning objectives and content
Identify and recruit high quality speakers; seek out the expertise of industry leaders to ensure that the intellectual content is engaging for the audience
Gain commitments and work with speakers on learning objectives. Build and maintain relationships with speakers and companies for future opportunities. Collect and fine-tune speaker presentation materials to ensure content and session are high quality and memorable for the audience. Write compelling, marketable agendas based on established objectives, analysis of industry research and knowledge of continuing professional education standards, that meet the needs of the target audience and drive attendance. Craft compelling copy for session titles and descriptions that grabs attendees' attention and prompts them to register. Support Marketing & Communication team members on writing and developing appropriate messaging, and promotional materials, to reflect key selling points.
2+ years’ experience in learning & development, journalism, communications, research, writing or related fields
Engaging self-starter, eager to learn about current trends and topics in the accounting industry
Exceptional research and writing skills, and ability to convey ideas tailored to a specific audience
Experience in leading projects, facilitating meetings, and working in team environment
Excellent organizational skills and ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
Professional business etiquette and ability to build relationships
Knowledge and proficiency in current Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office products
Accounting & finance subject matter knowledge, including a CPA, a plus
Knowledge of, or experience in, the concepts and practices of adult learning
Experience in associations, thought leadership, member or customer engagement
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, organizational development, learning & development, or related field
Flextime and Telecommuting schedules available after 6 months
Competitive salary commensurate with experience
