Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Specialist provides a blend of technical, strategic, and interpersonal skills to drive marketing solutions to improve member engagement, increase revenue, and grow Society brand awareness. This position works across all channels, including direct mail, email, web, and social media.
What you’ll bring to the job:
BA/BS in Marketing, Communication, Business Administration, or English preferred.
Experience working in a health and/or science association preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in marketing/promotion.
Communication, organizational and analytical skills.
Experience in planning and implementing promotions and advertising.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.

What you’ll own:
Assist with creating an editorial calendar to help influence marketing initiatives throughout the year. Help to establish ways content can be promoted beyond traditional marketing initiatives to ensure members and customers keep our products and services top of mind.
Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and suggest new ways to highlight content across Society channels that can be used for current members and as lead generation based on priorities and customer need.
Play a key role in planning offers, developing calls to action, identifying new strategies and opportunities, reviewing campaign results, testing, and adjusting marketing plans according to results.
Work collaboratively with marketing and creative services colleagues to maximize editorial calendar for content development for digital and print campaigns.
Develop tactical marketing plans for Society product lines and resources that resonates with our members and increases revenue and brand awareness.
Write marketing copy, headlines, and descriptive text for web, social media content, email copy, and video scripts; identify best practices in marketing content copy.
Work with marketing team to create an annual direct marketing production schedule, tied to content and editorial calendar. Ensure campaign implementation is delivered on time. Review quarterly and update as needed.
Assist in managing vendors who support the Marketing Department
