We have an immediate need for a Fellowship Specialist who will be the dedicated individual to manage and support all matters related to sleep fellowship programs, including related committees, webinars, and fellowship communications and engagement. The ideal candidate will have related nonprofit association experience in supporting fellowship programs with excellent customer service, project management and organizational skills.
Responsibilities and Duties
Serve as first line of contact for follows and fellowship program directors.
Manage the administration of the Advancing Innovation in Residency Education (AIRE) pilot programs (part-time and blended models), including facilitation of all curriculum measurement tools, data collection and dissemination.
Serve as staff liaison to all committees/subcommittees related to fellows, including the Fellowship Models Exploratory Committee and the Sleep Medicine Fellowship Directors Council (SMFDC).
Facilitate content development and administration of monthly SMFDC webinars.
Oversee the development and administration of the Sleep Medicine Fellows’ Boot Camp at the annual SLEEP meeting.
Organize and prepare, in conjunction with the committee chairs, monthly meeting agenda, supporting materials, and monthly assignments (conference calls and in-person meetings).
Schedule and facilitate evaluation tools for AIRE fellows (OSCEs), including simulation exercises.
Compile participant & activity data from multiple AIRE measurement activities within multiple institutions.
Prepare and submit the required annual reports to the AASM Board of Directors, reflecting accurate fellow, program and committee data.
Prepare, monitor, and maintain the budgets for the Fellowship Models Exploratory Committee and the Sleep Medicine Fellowship Directors Council.
Communicate with fellowship programs regarding facilitation of the Match program and the Sleep Medicine in Training Examination (SMITE).
Serve as staff liaison for SMIGs, including promotion of fellowship engagement.
Maintenance of all Fellows/Fellowship content on the AASM website, including the ChooseSleep webpages.
Attend conferences, courses, and meetings as assigned.
Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Director.
This position may require very limited travel, which may include weekends.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
Minimum one-year related experience in a nonprofit association
Experience in information management systems, i.e. maintaining databases (collecting, compiling, entering)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal relationship skills
Strong planning and organizational skills with great attention to detail; prior project management experience
Nonprofit medical association experience in residency and fellowship programs
Familiarity with medical fellowship training models
