This position is primarily responsible for working with the Senior Project Manager to facilitate the timeline and development and production of scientific and technical content via volunteer project teams and subject matter experts (SMEs). The projects managed will include administrative support and project management for several committees, and other technical products and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Actively manage and interface with volunteer subject matter experts (SMEs) and SME project teams working on technical initiatives.
Develop production project plans and timelines.
Review content to ensure consistency throughout manuals and documents and with previous volumes.
Coordinate with internal Publications and external editor.
Manage calls/meetings with external project leaders, contributors, and the publisher.
Create agendas and maintain an accurate record of meeting/call proceedings.
Maintain dashboards and project plans.
Support Senior Project Manager to manage and support Body of Knowledge (BoK) and content development projects.
Keep committees and project teams on-track for both timing and budget requirements.
Coordinates output from various volunteer groups and collaboration, where appropriate.
Develop a group of SMEs as references and to engage in working groups and committees for projects.
Serve as the day-to-day staff liaison for the assigned program areas and provide administrative support to volunteer groups.
Work with Senior Project Manager to be an internal SME for AIHA regarding project management processes and implementation
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred in a STEM area; experience considered in lieu of education
At least 1 – 2 years’ experience leading project teams of volunteer and/or contracted technical (STEM) subject matter experts.
Experience using online collaboration tools, such as Adobe Connect and document management platforms, such as SharePoint, for product or content development projects.
At least 1 year of work or volunteer experience in a professional membership organization or association.
Proven ability in using and applying sound project management techniques in managing development projects.
1 – 3 years’ work or volunteer experience with an industrial hygiene, occupational safety, or STEM-focused organization or professional membership association.
