American Medical Technologists is a nationally recognized credentialing agency, certifying allied health professionals in 10 different but related fields. AMT is also a membership organization, providing benefits and services to over 86,000 members.
We are looking for an experienced Member Services professional to join our team. Below is a summary of the duties:
Identifies and monitors needs of members and works toward ensuring those needs are met. Develops, promotes and administers the association's membership programs and services. Writes and coordinates the distribution of various member communications. Responsible for production of a membership publication. Serves as staff support to state society leaders. Performs specific functions related to the Annual Meeting. Participates in Board meetings and takes minutes at such. Maintains budget of member service functions and may supervise staff.
Through research and other feedback mechanisms, regularly identify and monitor ongoing member needs.
Coordinating with other departments, develop content, scope, and fees of new products and services; recommend discontinuance of those that are obsolete.
Strive to meet the organization’s member renewal and retention goals. Monitor and report member statistics as necessary. Analyze data for trends and initiate further investigation or corrective action when appropriate.
Contribute to, and in some instances lead, non-CE related Annual Meeting activities. Participate in cross-department planning meetings; coordinate with key member leaders; attend annual meeting.
Administer the membership job board and develop tools and resources that help members advance in their profession.
Assist in, and in some instances lead, member advocacy efforts; monitor state and federal regulations.
Market education and other member products, services and events to members (e.g., annual meeting, professional recognition weeks, logo items), including creating and coordinating marketing campaigns for such. Stock member logo store.
Develop content for, and coordinate distribution of, bimonthly member e-newsletter, member -related email blasts, state society email blasts, text messages, social media and related blogs to inform members on various topics.
Source non-CE articles and regularly-occurring columns for member publication; coordinate production and distribution of said publication.
Work with member leaders to monitor member online communities; identify and resolve communication issues as necessary.
Provide web content updates for member and state society needs
Monitor marketing campaigns, website analytics, email statistics, meeting registration and related information and generate departmental reports.
Act as a primary liaison between national and state society leaders. Provide assistance with communication, state society websites, policies and procedures, and event planning, as necessary. Staff the state request email line.
Attend and participate in Board meetings; take minutes at such.
Coordinate national award and member scholarship programs
Act as a liaison for review of member discipline cases
Education, Skills, and Background Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related required.
3-5 years of experience in a membership-based organization, preferably in a professional, nonprofit, healthcare association.
1-2 years marketing experience, including planning and administering successful marketing campaigns and writing copy for promotional materials and websites.
1-2 years of experience in demonstrating excellent judgment and decision-making abilities including meeting goals and deadlines.
Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat. Experience in a membership database product.
Excellent presentation, writing, reading, oral, and listening communication skills including demonstrated competency with spelling and grammar.
Ability to provide direction and motivation to staff while meeting goals with minimum supervision.
