Senior Manager, Speechwriting & Leadership Communications Chicago, IL The American Dental Association is dedicated to promoting the public's health through its initiatives in research, education, advocacy, public awareness and the development of standards. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Speechwriting & Leadership Communications. The Senior Manager, Speechwriting & Leadership Communications is a high-profile role that works directly with the organization's Executive Director and President to elevate ADA's reputation and brand among multiple audiences to significantly influence organizational growth, profitability, leadership, and mindshare internally, with key stakeholders and in the larger healthcare community. This position will provide big-picture strategic thinking, vision, consulting and lead in the creation of a multi-year ADA thought leadership platform as well as shorter-term leader and employee communications strategies and tactics to promote the ADA's vision and mission externally and internally. This position requires a deep understanding of key issues in dentistry and healthcare as well as social and political forces that impact them in order to craft leader communications that resonate with and inspire audiences such as state and local dental society leaders and members, government entities, industry and community leaders and dental and medical organizations and professionals. Requirements: - BA/BS degree and a minimum of 5 years of Corporate, government, nonprofit, or agency communications including at least 3 years in C-Suite strategic communications.
- Excellent speechwriting, and written communication.
- Creative thinking and storytelling, strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of digital and social media landscape.
- Ability to contribute as a business partner and trusted advisor to senior leaders, lead successful executive communication campaigns, translate technical and scientific information into clear and engaging communications across multiple channels.
- Ability to lead with high energy and a strong sense of accountability, multi-task, and work within tight deadlines.
- Microsoft Office Suite (WORD, EXCEL & PowerPoint).
Highly desirable: - Experience in health care or science-based professions.
- Past experience facilitating communications sessions for non-communications professionals.
- Membership in a related professional association like the Professional Speechwriters Association.
- Experience working in a digital and social media environment, understanding content development and delivery.
- Experience in conducting presentations.
