The American Dental Association is dedicated to promoting the public's health through its initiatives in research, education, advocacy, public awareness and the development of standards. We have an exciting opportunity for a Publishing Product Developer, Patient Education Manager.
The Publishing Product Developer, Patient Education Manager develops and manages the patient education product line. This position has a direct impact on the profitability of the Department of Product Development and Sales. This position will integrate key management skills such as product strategy, marketing strategy, market research, project management, financial analysis, inventory management, and relationship management. This position has profit and loss responsibility for the patient education product line.
A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in publishing, print and digital-based product development and implementation, editing and writing educational materials or promotional copy.
Must be able to set goals and priorities, meet deadlines, motivate others, and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent writing and editing skills
Must have project management, relationship management (e.g. vendors as well as internal and external stakeholders), information analysis, creative thinking, and leadership skills.
Knowledge of graphic design and layout.
Basic understanding of publishing production processes.
MBA or another graduate degree; knowledge of dentistry, the dental market or health care environments
Market research experience
Book editing experience
Graphic design or art direction skills
Experience working with an association or similar group of constituents
Market survey/research experience
Past work with Aptify or another robust database, developing business plans, and working with an e-catalog.
